The Paranormal Side of Life

Updated on September 9, 2011

The House Near Hinsdale - AKA The Dandy House

The following Youtube video was produced by Mason Winfield, author, researcher and "supernatural historian." He visited the infamous haunted house in Hinsdale, New York and produced a video depicting the history of the house and its area. This video offers the account of a former occupant as well as a synopsis given by Father Alphonsus Trabold (1925-2005) who was a dear friend who perfomed a 'simple' exorcism with the assistance of world renowned psychic, Alex Tanous (1926-1990). Alex and a film crew of seven NYU students visited the house on April 13, 1975 when Alex conducted his second investigation of the house.

A former occupant, Father Alphonsus Trabold, and Mason Winfield offer their comments about the house.

Below is the story about the House near Hinsdale, produced by The Discovery Channel's series, "A Haunting." This video is the first in a series of 8 links depicting the entire story. Interviews of Clara Miller, (owner during the 70's), her son, Mike Dandy, and family friend, Randy Carr. The storyline is a bit sensationalized in many ways. The house depicted is a large, rambling home - the original house is small, They speak of a crawl space which is shown to be below the stairs - the crawl space in the original house is 'above' the stairs and is barely big enough for one person. The family had four children, the story only cast two. There are many other discrepancies, but these are the most important to point out. Overall, the incidents are very close to what transpired during the family's troubled years in their country home.
